What does an Edinburgh-born, Calgary-raised adventure girl do after successfully completing Dress for Success’ Vancouver 18 month Professional Women’s Program? She becomes a “mom” – wait, WHAT? “Mom” to her colleagues, that is! Fiona’s role as concierge for CBRE’s Vancouver office fulfills her on a daily basis. Lucky for YES, she has volunteered to model for us at our signature event! Read on for Fiona’s 5 year plan and what clothing makes her feel her best.

How important was fashion (clothes) in the Dress for Success process?
My referral to Dress for Success Vancouver came about as I did not have anything suitable to wear for an interview. I was on a limited budget, and as I had spent the better part of my career in healthcare uniforms, I did not have business appropriate attire. I wanted to look smart and “put together”. I came away with more than just the outfit, I came away with renewed confidence.

What about fashion makes you feel great?
I am not one to wear “trends”. I like classic/timeless styles. I always admired Audrey Hepburn; elegant and graceful. Dress appropriate for the occasion, be confident, and smile.

Fill in the blanks. I feel best dressed in ______.
My little black dress and a smile.

What is your number one career tip?
Less talk, more listening and you will continue to learn.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Nothing is impossible. The word itself says, “I’m possible!” – Audrey Hepburn
