By becoming a friend of Y.E.S!, you will gain access to two exclusive Y.E.S! events per year. As well, your annual contribution of $75 will go directly to Dress for Success.

Q: Who pays for events?

A: Our generous sponsors make each event possible and allow every penny you contribute to go to Dress for Success.

Q: When are the events?

A: We host bi-monthly intimate networking events which Y.E.S! members can attend for a nominal fee as well as two gala events in the fall and spring which Y.E.S! members gain complimentary access

Q: How am I kept up to date on upcoming events?

A: If you have contributed and become a friend of Y.E.S!, you will automatically receive notices of our upcoming events via email

Q: What does my $75 do for Dress For Success?

A: It can do a lot and in a lot of different ways. It could either buy:

• A suit and accessories
• An on-line course for someone to upgrade their skills in our Career Centre
• Reference books for the Career Centre and Professional Women’s Group library

Q: How do I volunteer?

A: We welcome you to get involved in Y.E.S! events. Please send an email to volunteerdfsvancouver.yes@gmail.com and we will contact you about potential volunteer opportunities.

Q: How can my company sponsor an event?

A: We always grateful for sponsorship. Please send all inquiries to the attention of Katrina Carroll-Foster, at dfsvancouver.yes@gmail.com.

Q: Is Y.E.S! for women only?

A: Yes.

Q: Do I have to join Y.E.S! to attend the events?

A: By joining Y.E.S! you get early notification of our events and are able to attend for a nominal fee. If you haven’t signed up to Y.E.S! you can still come and check us by buying a non-member ticket to our events.

Q: If I join Y.E.S! can I bring a guest?

A: We encourage you to spread the word about Y.E.S! Your friends are able to purchase non-member tickets to our events.

Q: What type of women will be at Y.E.S! events?

A: You can expect to see all types of women at Y.E.S! events…from CEO’s to community nurses, Executive Directors to managers, researchers to business partners and everything in between. We especially encourage Dress for Success clients to come to Y.E.S! events. Y.E.S! strives to be non-intimidating and all-inclusive. Regardless of your current profession or career aspirations, we encourage you to become involved in Y.E.S! and grow with us! You never know what types of opportunities will present themselves over a simple conversation and a glass of wine.

Q: Are there other forms of networking besides the events?

A: We know by attending events you’ll spark new connections. We have also set up a facebook page, exclusively for Y.E.S! members to allow you to continue your conversations. Y.E.S! is Young! We hope to offer valuable events that are varied, large and small, each year. We want to hear your thoughts on what you’d like to see!

Q: Is my transaction secure?

A: Absolutely! Your personal information will be stored in our database, but credit card information will not be stored by DFS. For the purpose of refunds and recurring donations critical information will be safely stored with our payment processor, Moneris.

The Moneris websites use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and 128 bit encryption technologies to enhance security when you visit the secured areas of these sites. SSL is the industry standard tool for protecting and maintaining the security of message transmissions over the Internet. When you access your accounts or send information from secured sites, encryption will scramble your data into an unreadable format to inhibit unauthorized access by others.

Q: Which methods of payment do you accept?

A: You can pay online using visa or mastercard. If you would prefer to send cash or a cheque, please mail it to: Y.E.S! Valerie Fernandez, DFS Vancouver, c/o the Royal Bank - 685 West Hastings Street Vancouver, BC V6B 1N9.

Q: Will I receive a charitable receipt?

A: As a member of Y.E.S you will receive access to our networking events. Under tax rules and regulations this means that although 100% of your funds will directly benefit DFS we are also providing something in return which rules out the tax receipt option. However, if you would like to make an additional donation to DFS you will receive a tax receipt. Support DFS.
